National Library Week!
April 23-29, 2023
Following are the programs we are hosting throughout this special week:
Monday, April 24
Starlight Storytime, 6:00pm: Let us provide your bedtime stories! Join us for a special evening event as we share stories, music, and fun for the entire family. Plus, cookies and milk before heading home for bedtime. Pajamas and a favorite stuffed friend welcome and encouraged. A great way to wind down the day. For kids of all ages through elementary school and their families.
Tuesday, April 25:
National Library Workers' Day: Visit the American Library Association's Galaxy of Stars and share why you love your Library workers! Go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SubmitaStarforNLWD
Kids: Show your love for our Library and the Librarians today and all week long! Bring us your homemade "I Love My Library" decorated hearts for our front doors. Make your own at home to drop off or use supplies provided by the Library. This activity will continue all week long.
Wednesday, April 26
10:30am: Storytime: Join us for storytime and stay for pizza muffins! A special storytime celebration for kids of all ages!
5:00pm: Made Into Movies Book Club: We will discuss the book/movie "Silver Linings Playbook". Joining us via zoom will be Actress Brea Bee. Brea portrayed Nikki in the film.
National Bookmobile Day: Do you know someone who could benefit from a Library delivery service? Today is that day! And then once a month thereafter. Call the Library to sign up for a delivery: 814-968-3439 or email librarian@sheffieldlibrary.org
Thursday, April 27
Movie Night, 5:30pm: Bring the entire family to the Library for a screening of the movie "Encanto". Popcorn will be served.
Friday, April 28
2:45pm to 4:30pm: Kids Read to Pets.
Kids of all ages will spend 15-20 minutes reading, engaging, and connecting with our special Library dog, Zygi. Help build your child's confidence in reading by participating in this very special program. There will be books to choose from or you may bring your own. You must register for an individual time slot for this program by calling 814-968-3439 or emailing librarian@sheffieldlibrary.org
